Flip the damn Script [Always be the Buyer]
There are 3 concepts from sales that you can apply to all aspects of your life and see great improvements immediately.
ABB - Always be the buyer
I've learned about this one from Dan Sullivan and Ben Hardy.
I see a lot you in cybersecurity and machine learning (and everywhere else) selling yourselves short. You accept a high demanding job for pennies. Some of you do this because you live in poor countries, some to gain experience and some because you dont know otherwise.
The world is full of companies looking for talent; and worthy talent is hard to find. Why don't you shift the perspective? Why would a company be a benefit to your life? How will they help you grow? What do they have to offer in exchange for your talent? Flip the damn script!
I recently turned down $100k a year job because it didn't align with my values. And I'm ready and willing to do just about the same for much higher $$$. Flip the damn script!
ABC + ABP - Always be closing & Always be proactive
This is about practicality and decisiveness.
In all your interactions, don't just leave things hanging in the limbo. If you talk to a prospective life partner, make a date; nobody likes small talk. If you're in a meeting witha friend, family, a business prospect, see how you can “close” on something, so that all parties involved have something to gain.
And this concept goes beyond people and interactions. Whatever you do, do it with a goal in mind, not just for the sake of it; it will serve nobody.
The best way to put this: live with intention.
And remember, if you don't have an agenda, you'll be part of someone else's agenda. Fail to plan and you will plan to fail.
And for those of you who are life-long learners, I'll leave you with this 15 second video I made yesterday.
I have some open spots for coaching and consultations in cyber, machine learning and web application super-fast development with nocode (like I did with Alterai.me - from idea to product in less than 30 days). No coding experience is required. You can contact me by replying to this email or DM on Twitter @cristivlad25.
Also, feel free to reach me out on Twitter with thoughts about what I said here or to tell me what I can do to help you grow in any way, shape, or form.
Cheers, Cristi
