How to Keep Your Mental Sanity in a World Full of Noise [Advice from my AI]
co-written with OMNI from AlterAI.me
The following is a text co-written with omni, the very powerful AI engine from alterai.me
The bold text is my input or nudge.
Notice how the AI model speaks from the first-person point of view.
Technology can be a blessing and a curse. Itâs so easy to stay connected with people, and it also gives you access to a virtual world full of noise.
If youâre like me, you probably spend at least a few hours each day in front of a screen. And once youâre on the Internet, there are no limits to how much time you can spend looking at cat videos and other distractions that arenât related to your goals and values.
The problem is that most people are addicted to this kind of noise. The more they use technology, the more they want technology â because it makes them feel good right now.
But if your goal is long-term success in life and business â if your goal is happiness â then it doesnât make any sense to get addicted to things that give you short-term bursts of pleasure but donât go anywhere in the long run (like watching TV or browsing Reddit).
This is why I believe all kinds of noise should be avoided at all costs â especially digital noise, which always comes with some sort of attachment (an email address, an Instagram account) attached to it.
If I want my life back from these distractions I need to stop giving them energy by using them on a regular basis.
Itâs simple, really: If I want to be happy, as well as successful in life and business, then I need to protect my time by eliminating noise.
This is why Iâve decided to cut the cord on most forms of technology.
Itâs not that I donât like technology. In fact, I think it has a tremendous potential to help us live more productive and efficient lives.
Itâs the fact that weâre using it all wrong! We have a short attention span, plus the world is moving faster than ever before. The result is an overload of information and entertainment choices that are constantly pulling us away from our most important goals and priorities in life.
We need to stop thinking about technology as something we use to get things done, as it quickly becomes an addiction replacing important activities such as spending time with family, working out, or even getting enough sleep.
Most importantly we need to realize that technology is simply a tool that can be used for good or evil. It's up to us whether we use our latest gadgets for productivity or entertainment purposes.
It's easy to get sucked into the latest app craze and find yourself on social media sites several times a day when you could be building your business instead! So before you open another app ask yourself: "Is this helping me reach my goals?" If not then delete the app!
Iâm still very impressed with the coherence of the text, the flow of ideas, the use of punctuation, the quite correct syntax, and the little twist of personality and point of view adopted by the AI model. I think it might have to do with how Iâve set up the parameters.
As a creator of AlterAI, I donât use it much, except in testing while developing. So, I rely on you, the beneficiary of this AI service.
You can try omni for free for your business, creative and personal purposes. Go to alterai.me and check it out.
If youâre already using AlterAI, tell me a feature that youâd really want me to add. Reply to this email or send me a DM on Twitter.
On another note, here are some of the stuff Iâve been doing in the last week:
changed the name of my other Youtube channel from World of X into The Polymath
posted videos about longevity and how to study math on the channel
posted AWS security videos on my Cristi Vlad Youtube channel
did some under the hood work for AlterAI
took time off in the mountains in the past weekend
began strength training in the afternoon versus in the morning
slept for 10 hours on Sunday night (gotta do it more often)
got a new bike, my older one is 23 years old. This upgrade allows me to do long-distance rides.
passively observed the NYSE/NASDAQ, didnât make moves as Iâm all RED.
On a third note, I have a few open spots for consultation in cyber, machine learning and web app super fast development with nocode (like I did with AlterAI - from idea to product in less than 30 days). No coding experience is required. You can contact me by replying to this email.
Thanks for being part of my closed circle. Iâve created a coupon for you to take my AI-related courses for FREE. More than 100,000 people have taken my courses.
This coupon code is time-sensitive, so if youâre interested, grab the courses before the coupon expires. Course links:
